On February 8 in Wilson High School’s Roy G. Snyder Natatorium, Donegal junior Jake Houck edged out the Lancaster-Lebanon League record in the 100m butterfly, stopping the timers in 50.22 seconds to overtake the previous record of 50.29 seconds, held by Conestoga Valley’s Todd Wilson.

Houck’s record-breaking time is not only noteworthy because of Houck’s personal best performance, it is noteworthy because it has allowed a new precedent to be set for Donegal swimming!

While Donegal swimmers can compete and claim accolades at L-L League meets, previously Donegal students could not be recognized for breaking an L-L League record as, without a home pool at Donegal, the team is not a fully recognized team. Now however, thanks to Houck’s performance, Ron Kennedy, and the L-L League chairperson, that rule has been overturned! Congratulations to Houck on officially holding an L-L League record!
